Starting in the 2025 academic year, ESMA students will be able to apply for a new training program. Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART
Montpellier Business School (MBS) and the École supérieure des métiers artistiques (ESMA) launched their partnership on Thursday, February 6, to create a joint training program.
“Phew, that's it, it's happened!”. To address the need for producers and managers in the creative industries, notably stated by producer Stéphane Caput, ESMA and MBS are joining forces to create the Master Producer and Entertainment Manager. The latter will be intended to train producers. The production manager believes that there is “an absolute lack of profiles linked to production”. The problem has been running since 2016 and the start of television productions in the region.
From then, new studios have been set up in Vendargues and demand is only growing. “We have an extraordinary source of talent in the region”, said the president of MBS André Deljarry, while welcoming “an operation that makes sense between two prestigious schools rooted in the region that are joining forces.”
Around a round table in an ESMA studio, the various speakers detailed the future training, this Thursday, February 6, which will be launched at the start of the 2025 school year. The training will be provided in English. Logical for Guillaume Marien, CEO of Mathematics studios: “Language is essential today. We have to look internationally.” The program is aimed at three sectors: audiovisual, cinema and video games, which gives it its own specificity. During the two years, students will be able to delve deeper into production management, the entertainment industries, the role of the producer, without forgetting the question of artificial intelligence. A real “sandbox”, where students will be able to get their hands dirty. Despite the recent questions raised by our colleagues at La Dépêche, this represents a pole of attraction for ESMA. The training of producers and artistic managers is also generating growing demand. “The producer is a precious person, not so easy to find”, believes Guillaume Marien.
To benefit from this “trans-media” teaching, however, you will have to pay no less than 26,800 euros for the two years of study.
