A device for stamping physical AND digital documents, that’s the feat of Bystamp

Meeting a growing demand

Founded in 2016 by Yann le Bail and Thierry Maison, Bystamp is best known for having developed Keymo. This digital stamp allows you to seal and sign digital documents unlimited, without a network connection being required. At the beginning of the year, the start-up moved up a gear by partnering with the Austrian company Colop, the world number 1 in ink stamps.

They are now announcing the commercialization of their product: the Printer 2-in-1. This hybrid solution can be used on paper as well as on digital documents. “It is a revolutionary technology that transforms in one fell swoop the way documents are authenticated in the digital age“, assures Yann Le Bail, CEO of Bystamp, to Bretagne Économique. A button on the side of the stamp allows documents to be certified without the need to scan or print them.

The device facilitates the transition to all-digital while meeting the demand, albeit declining, for authentication of paper documents. The Printer 2-1 provides a solution to the growing need for digitalization of administrative and commercial processes.

From October, the technology will be marketed for 49.90 euros at the Bureau-Vallée brand in France, as well as in more than 10 European countries. As with the Keymo, the ink stamp works without an Internet connection; the data is saved and can be downloaded when the network is found.

Bystamp's technology reduces the carbon footprint

Bystamp knows that demand for this type of solution will be there, and is aiming for a turnover of 2 million euros soon. Based in Morbihan, the young company employs around fifteen people and has had two co-founders of the French unicorn Ledger, specializing in cryptocurrencies, on its teams since 2022.

Upstream, the start-up, valued at 3 million euros, announces the sale of 700,000 euros in its capital. 200,000 are already reserved by investors. Its objective: to conquer the international market. 50 million ink pads are sold each year in a world where the digitalization of administrations is underway.

In addition, Bystamp highlights the ecological advantage of the Printer 2 -in-1. The carbon footprint of companies using it is reduced by 33 grams compared to a traditional ink pad, explains the start-up. A figure that reaches 46 grams when compared to one signature per server.
