Former BLMA President René Comes Passed Away at the Age of 80 BLMA

René Comes was the president of the BLMA until 2017 before handing over to Franck Manna.

Under his presidency, the BLMA won seven of the nine trophies on its list of achievements. René Comes passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday, December 29.

“His story with the BLMA is the story of a long-standing commitment. He arrived at the club in the early 1990s and worked there for four seasons before stepping away for a few years. Then, when he was recalled in 2008 to help turn the club around, he was able, thanks to his rigorous management and ambitious vision, to clean up the BLMA and make the team competitive.”, the Latto-Montpellier club announced on Wednesday, January 1, to announce the death of its former president.

Tribute Sunday during the match against Charnay

His funeral will be held on Friday, January 3, at 10 a.m., at the Saint-Bernard church in Lattes. A tribute will be paid to him on Sunday by the BLMA on the sidelines of the match against Charnay-lès-Mâcon.
