The taxi driver was not injured, but he suffered a violent nervous shock. However, he was not taken to a hospital center, reports Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation was entrusted to the Major Crimes Section of the SPVM and it is continuing.

A large security perimeter has been established and the area is closed to protect the scene. Avenue Querbes is closed between rue Jarry and rue Jean-Talon until further notice.

For the moment, the identity of the victim remains unknown.

This is the third murder to occur on the island of Montreal since the start of the year.

Recall that a woman in her thirties was killed in an apartment in the Pointe-aux-Trembles area Friday morning.
