Another challenge for the successful actress! At 91, Françoise Fabian is in better shape than ever. If she has played in many successful films such as La bonne année, Un homme et son chien, Le préénom, Les garçons and Guillaume à table! or more recently Finally, she is also passionate about music. In 2018, she released her first album. Six years later, the artist wanted renew the experience.
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, for Le Figaro, it was then that she was questioned about the reason that had pushed her to release her new album, L’heure d’un rendezvous, which she declared : “I had so much fun doing the first one! I love singing, I love lyrics.I have always loved songs, I have always loved the singers, I went to see them in concert everywhere: Americans, Italians, all, all, all !”.

For this new album, the artist worked exclusively with music by Léonard Lasry and lyrics by Élisa Point. “They are the ones who came to me to suggest çthat. Élisa came with a song that touched me a lot by telling me about a film that I had shot with Maurice Ronet. She explained to me that she had been inspired by me. After that, Léonard Lasry came to present me with a whole range of very beautiful songs”, she said.
She didn't know their work before, though. “I had heard Leonard sing of course, but I didn't know “Elisa” at all”, she revealed before specifying: “Her work is close to that of Barbara. I didn't like seeing her because she was too mannered for me, but I loved her songs”.
Françoise Fabian: “I couldn't put her on the album”
In 2018, shortly before her death, a great singer made a gift. “Charles Aznavour offered me a song a month before his death. But I couldn't put it on the album. I really liked Patachou who pushed me to sing. Lots of people asked me to sing. Françoise Sagan wanted me to write songs”, she revealed.
While she refused, Françoise Fabian added : “I had a lot of things to do. I had a very rich private life and at the same time a very demanding job. I worked a lot because I never forgot the theater. I am first and foremost a theater actress and I have always tried not to sacrifice the theater to cinema. I chose theater because it's my DNA”.
