“It falls in the year of the Olympic Games, which is good for getting a medal. But it falls even better because it's the year of our 25th anniversary”. Pascal Fulla is not a little proud. The winemaker and his daughter, Léa Fulla, at the head of the Mas de l'Ecriture in Jonquières have just received a very nice distinction. The gold medal from the readers of the Revue du vin de France. A prestigious prize for a magazine that is just as prestigious: “I am happy that this prize comes from readers, says the winemaker. That it comes from amateurs, in the true sense of the term, people who love wine”.

“Wine meets its public”

225 amateurs therefore, passionate and above all very knowledgeable since they had to taste 452 samples to deliver 20 gold medals. And the only one in Languedoc goes to the small Jonquières estate in the Terrasses du Larzac appellation: “That encourages us. It means that wine meets its public. That's why we do it”, says Pascal Fulla modestly, who refuses to make any pretension: “A prize is always subjective, but it still means that after 25 years, we're going in the right direction”.

The winemaker who chose to go organic does not regret his choice. Nor that of making wines of very high quality. In particular for this excellent award-winning vintage: the Ecriture 2015 (blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache), a harmonious, balanced wine of remarkable intensity. An excellent tip to be on the festive tables this year.
