The actress knows it, she is expected at the turning point… &At 25, Zoé Adjani got her first major role in the theater in Les caprices de Marianne, by Alfred de Musset. Daughter of actor Éric Hakim Adjani – who died in 2010 – and niece of actress Isabelle Adjani, the young woman is ready to show what she can do. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, for Le Figaro, Nathalie Lucas, co-director of the Thééâtre des Gémeaux Parisiens, indicated: “Her aunt can only guide her well. For her part, Zoé Adjani assured that she was not clinging to the outside gaze. “I do what I believe in and in the present. I try to be humble even if my face is on the poster. There is pressure, but I am not the only performer, we are a troop”, she assured.

Zoé Adjani: “I had a problem with legitimacy”

If she played in the film Cerise in 2015, in the drama Cigare au miel in 2020 and played in Les Amandiers and the series Les filles du feu, the actress did not go to a drama school. “I never had an idol, not even Tata!”, she exclaimed before specifying: I protected myself a lot from this influence, she is an actress that I admire. I had a problem with legitimacy that I am in the process of resolving. It is gradually fading away. measure”. And for good reason, as she was keen to point out, she has been doing this job for eight years.

In October 2021, in the columns of Paris Match, Zoé Adjani had already indicated: “With the name I bear, since my childhood, I have never stopped being questioned and, inevitably, asking myself questions”. While she had been advised to take a pseudonym, she had retorted : I am proud of my work and I would like to receive praise, even if it starts, for reasons other than this name. I have often been advised to change it. Do you realize ? Crossing out my father's name when I do everything this for him!”.

Zoé Adjani: “I learned to know cinema from the side technicians”

In April 2015, in an interview with Paris Match, the young actress declared: “Ever since I was little, people have come to see me in the playground to tell me: 'It's true that Isabelle Adjani is your aunt ? You're a child of the ball! You're well-connected! You want to be an actress because it's easy!' So I was always aware of what she represented. But that didn't make me want to discover her films any more. I live on the French Riviera, and Isabelle is very busy”.

Wishing to set the record straight, Zoé Adjani added: “Contrary to what my name might suggest, I learned to know cinema from the technicians because my father-in-law is a steadicam operator and he took us with him to the sets. So, I don't know about the glitter, nor the red carpets, nor the image stories. My parents were more inclined to show me the negative aspects of the job…”.
