Opposed, with the Gazelles, to her former club Landerneau, this Sunday (3:15 p.m.), Hortense Limouzin has had an interesting first season with Lattes-Montpellier.

A real live wire on the court. And this is reflected on the statistics sheet. Hortense Limouzin has an average of 6.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 4 assists per game. The former 3×3 basketball player has had no trouble readjusting to traditional basketball after a year on the half-court. “It comes back quickly to cross a field and re-appropriate the specificities of 5×5. There are differences, but in terms of intensity, I was lucky because the game we try to offer collectively is a very intense game that corresponds to the way I play 3×3.”, explains the Paris native.

She also participated in the Olympic Games this summer in her hometown with the French 3×3 team. A mixed experience for the pocket leader, with an early elimination (8th) while the Blues were among the favorites. “I think it will remain as the most pleasant but also the worst.”

After this sporting disappointment, Hortense Limouzin had to switch directly to her new club, BLMA. It is partly thanks to the team's play that Limouzin decided to settle down in Lattes. “In recent years, it has been one of the most recognized clubs in France. The fact that there is Valéry Demory, one of the greatest French coaches at the moment, helps a lot. It's a step forward for me, even to get back into the rhythm of 5×5 straight away, with two matches during the week with the European Cup.”

Landerneau, a physical training

After the defeat (62-56) against Keltern in the round of 16 first leg of the Eurocup, Thursday, it's time for Landerneau, a club that Limouzin knows well. She returns to the Cimenterie, after two seasons spent (2020-2022) in the colors of the Breton club. “I have good memories. It's a family club with a real basketball environment in the city. The public is the 6th man. It's a very structured club and has the merit of being where it is, with a small budget. They deserve to be able to move forward and I'm sure they will see the top of the table in the years to come.”

A team that has a very physical game. “It's a team that puts a lot of aggression and doesn't hesitate to project itself forward. They try to defend hard to be able to win balls and break the opposing tactics a little.”
