A “transitional” truce for the ROA before returning to the fields

Bonne nouvelle : le RO Agde devrait récupérer l’ensemble de son effectif remis de blessure.

Results for the XV agathois which is in tenth place out of twelve.

After twelve days, i.e. the first leg and one return match played, the maritimes must be content with a modest tenth place out of twelve. This is enough to surprise.

RO Agde is somewhat arithmetic behind in recent seasons, at the same time. However, it is appropriate to clarify things.

First, the Agathois are six points ahead of the first relegation-prone team, US Nantua. That is, a significant margin before considering the worst. And then, there is the workforce problem, partly linked to the congestion of the infirmary. This has had a strong impact on the mid-season, particularly by the eclipse of the Agathois XV executives.

Young people and a soon-to-be-full workforce

Another point to take into account: out of twelve rounds, only five were played at Millet. This leaves hope of optimizing the number of receptions for the second part of the championship. Especially since the good news comes from the mouth of Romain Brison: “At the beginning of the year, we'll get everyone back, the squad will be complete.” Particularly well placed to know, he forms with Jérôme Escusa (three-quarter coach) and Thibault Suchier, the technical management of the Fédérale 1 team.

They are making this year of “transition”, a blessing in disguise: “Our situation forces us to seek resources from young people, Montels, Burguillos, Michon, Braganti have responded, it bodes well for the future.”

Relying on the state of mind

In the meantime, heads and hearts are a little heavy. “The break will do us good by resetting the psychological and physiological counters to zero”, underlines the ROA management. And then, there is the state of mind. Despite the defeat in Annonay (22-10) during their last outing, the “yellow” and “blue” showed mental resources in the second half.

In adversity, despite the scoreboard, they manage to transcend themselves. Even if it is not always enough. “We must rely on that, this state of mind specific to the ROA, it is one of our strengths to go for better”, indicates Romain Brison. Before concluding: “We deserve it. With the full squad, we can aim for the comeback.”

Good resolutions in this time of wishes
