Saturday, January 11, around 8 p.m., in the Villejean district in the northwest of Rennes, two men, in a car, shot two other men who were near a supermarket, before fleeing, according to the same source.

“For nearly three weeks, the Villejean neighborhood has been facing a turf war between drug traffickers. The violence has escalated in recent days”, explained the elected official, indicating that the fifty-year-old's vital prognosis remained “still engaged this Sunday afternoon”. Nathalie Appéré said she had spoken with Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau and the prefect about the situation.

“The explosion of drug trafficking and the violence it generates are a major threat to our country, to our security, to our cohesion, to our institutions“, Nathalie Appéré said. “After the mayors of large cities, it is now all the mayors of France who are confronted with this scourge.
