40 slopes open this Monday in Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000

#PYRÉNÉES-ORIENTALES – This weekend, the Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 resort was the only one in the Neiges Catalanes to open its area with two slopes. And the results are more than satisfactory since the resort did not expect such a successful opening. More than 800 people rushed to the resort on Saturday. With a snow depth of 40 cm, the entire Airelles sector was opened. Thus, 12 slopes were passable this Sunday, 3 on Pyrénées 2000 and 9 on Font-Romeu. This Monday, the opening will extend to the northern slopes. The ski area will therefore go from 2 to 40 slopes in the space of three days. Be careful though, because the snow still expected this Monday will be accompanied by freezing temperatures: -7°. And because of the wind, a feeling of -15°!

Terrorist action: an arrest in the Gard

#INVESTIGATION –The information was confirmed by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT). Three young men were indicted this Saturday, December 7 in Paris, suspected of having planned a violent action in France with explosive devices. They had various targets, including the town hall of Poitiers. These suspects, aged 19 and 20, were placed in pretrial detention. They had been arrested on Wednesday by police officers from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) in several departments including Loire-Atlantique and Gard, according to Le Parisien. Two of them are being prosecuted in particular for unauthorized manufacture of an explosive device and for possession and transport of an incendiary or explosive substance or product, the PNAT specified. All are students, one of whom is studying chemistry. They were spotted by DGSI agents because of worrying conversations on encrypted networks.

On W9, the buzz of the dog trainer

#HÉRAULT – His name is Michel Cassan, he is one of the candidates of the show “Un dîner presque parfait, tel maître, tel chien”, which will be broadcast from this Monday 9 to Friday 13 December, at 6:50 p.m., on the W9 channel. A program where the Valrassien trainer, who was accompanied by his dog Rudy, showed his strong character. In the show, five competitors are in the running, with their pet. As in the program “Un dîner presque parfait”, each participant is, in turn, rated on his culinary performance carried out in the company of his dog!

The figure of the day: 125

#AVEYRON –This is the number of candles to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Millau market halls. An anniversary celebrated as it should be! Dances, cars from the last century with the Sava association (Sud-Aveyron old vehicles) and a feast with good products from the stalls of the traders…, the party was great this Saturday. The Lo Gantieirelo group performed choreographies from the old days, when the market halls were very young.

The award-winning cutler

#LOZÈRE – This is a first in Lozère. Cutler Sophie Fauré is the first woman to become a master craftsman in the department. The evening of Know-how and Heritage, organized by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Lozère, was an opportunity to salute her career. Today, Sophie Fauré's knives, made in her workshop in the commune of Mas-Saint-Chély, on the Causse Méjean, are prized by big names in cuisine. A blacksmith and cutler, trained in the arts of cabinetmaking, sculpture and marquetry, Sophie Fauré uses her various skills to create her unique pieces. “Transmitting, loving and sharing is the greatest joy of a craftsman” , she confided.
