Abbé Pierre accused: his victims compiled in photos ? This nightmarish drawer that he would have had

Nine new testimonies have been collected against Abbé Pierre. In the columns of Le Parisien this Monday, January 13, revelations were made, in particular concerning a drawer in which the priest allegedly hid des images.

For several months, Abbé Pierre has been the subject of accusations of sexual assault. The facts were revealed in the newspaper La Croix on July 17, 2024, and seven women testified. The accusations continued with nine more, as reported by Le Parisien on Monday, January 13. A lot of information has been given in the columns of the media, concerning images that the priest would have in his possession. These would have been taken with his Polaroid, which Abbot Pierre did not leave. 

Abbé Pierre was passionate about images and many were exhibited in 2012. However, some remained secret since they concerned alleged victims of the priest. According to one of them, the priest kissed her by force before asking her to pose. He allegedly took out his Polaroid and took a photo which he then put away in a “drawer containing a pile of similar photos”, can be read. For her part, the victim stated: “I remember thinking that all these women had experienced the same thing as me”.

Abbé Pierre: photos as trophies ?

According to the testimony of these victims, there would be numerous photos in this famous drawer. Another witness would have confirmed having “seen photos of this type” , leading to the belief that the priest had a habit of collecting them. For her part, Nathalie Longuet-von Zelowitz, a psychologist and forensic expert with expertise in serial crimes, thinks that it was a way of remembering these crimes. “It looks like trophies” , she said. “One can think of a collection of victims, a need to immortalize the moment to replay it later”,the expert then specifies.

In a report explained in the columns of the Parisien, it is indicated that, in six months, 33 direct testimonies of abuse committed by Abbé Pierre were heard. More research has been made and the total number of victims identified would be 57. But not all of them could or wanted to be heard. Some do not wish to appear in the count”, indicates the media which specifies thereafter:  “Finally, old memories could not be consolidated by archives or the known agenda of Abbé Pierre”. 

Abbé Pierre: new testimonies publicly revealed

Among the new testimonies, there is that of a woman, a member of the family of Abbé Pierre. She is said to have spoken of “incestuous abuse, committed at the end of the 1990s. According to her, Father Pierre allegedly touched her on the chest, forced her into a kiss and made sexual comments to her. several repeated”. Among the other complaints, there would be different profiles but attacks with the same protocol, “copied, duplicated from one victim to another”, we can read.

Two other victims confided that they had been attacked by the Abbot Pierre in the 1990s and 2000s, were caregivers at the hospital. “One was expecting a baby, when he touched her on the stomach and chest”, it is indicated. Another, about twenty years old, worked for Emmaüs France at Charenton when she met the priest. “He touched her breasts and roughly inserted his tongue into her mouth”, it is specified.
