The two Algerian influencers were arrested this Friday, January 3, in Brest and near Grenoble for videos posted on the social network TikTok. The two men accused of advocating terrorism are facing an OQTF. Imad Tintin, alias “Bledar de luxe” on TikTok, was a supporter of Zazou Youssef following his arrest.

An Algerian influencer facing deportation, known as “Imad Tintin”, a supporter of another Algerian already prosecuted for apology for terrorism, will be brought before a French judge this Sunday with a view to an immediate appearance on Monday for “direct incitement to an act of terrorism”, the prosecution said.

“Imad Tintin” was arrested Friday evening in Échirolles, near Grenoble (central-east), after publishing a video, since removed, calling for “burning alive, killing and raping on French soil”, according to a screenshot taken up by the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, denouncing remarks “vile”.

“The war waged in France by the Algerian regime”

Aged 31, he supported Youcef A., known as “Zazou Youssef”, a second Algerian influencer living in France, remanded in custody until his trial on February 24 by the Brest court (west) for condoning an act of terrorism, after calling for violent acts via videos.

Youcef A. is subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF). “Imad Tintin” entered France in December 2021 and applied for a residence permit in August 2023 after his marriage to a French woman. But this request was refused and he is also subject to an OQTF.

“Zazou Youssef” and “Imad Tintin” have joined “the war waged in France by the Algerian regime” which mobilizes a “significant” number of influencers calling for “violence”, estimated to the AFP Chawki Benzehra, an Algerian opponent who took refuge in France after taking part in pro-democracy demonstrations against the government in 2019. Chawki Benzehra said he filed a complaint on Friday in Lyon for threats made against him by “Imad Tintin”.
