While some sleep in perfect silence, others shake the walls with their thunderous snoring. The latter can sometimes reach 100 dB (roughly the noise level of a pneumatic hammer at 5 meters or an alarm), they can be particularly unpleasant for snorers and especially their partners.

There are several solutions to counter the phenomenon, more or less effective: suction cups or nasal strips, oral devices or orthopedic pillows. The Hooti pillow is part of this last category, but it is also powered by artificial intelligence.

A high-tech sleep companion

Under its deceptive appearance of an ordinary memory foam pillow, Hooti hides a sophisticated mechanism. At the heart of its operation are sensors of remarkable sensitivity, capable of detecting the slightest sound vibrations characteristic of snoring.

This information is then transmitted, via a Bluetooth connection, to a specially designed application. This is where artificial intelligence comes in, which analyzes the waves captured.

The pillow, obeying the AI's instructions, then reacts subtly. It generates tiny vibrations and modulates the position of the sleeper's head thanks to an integrated airbag system. This intervention aims to free the airways without disturbing the user's sleep.

Unlike conventional devices that use microphones, it uses bone conduction to identify snoring. This design not only allows instant detection of sleep quality and the onset of snoring, but also offers precise monitoring of breathing, heart rate and body movements.

Thus, gradually, the artificial intelligence gradually refines its knowledge of the sleeper's habits, adjusting the shape of the pillow to optimal comfort.

The team behind Hooti confidently claims that their creation far surpasses its competitors in reliability. In fact, the accuracy of the data collected by this pillow is said to reach a remarkable 90%, eclipsing the modest 40% posted by currently available anti-snoring alternatives.

Of course, its designers don't show the details of their calculation on Hooti's official Kickstarter page. Should we really be surprised ?

Currently in the final stages of its development, Hooti is already available to the most impatient via a crowdfunding campaign. For around 200 dollars (yes, it stings!), early adopters can ensure they receive this technological gem as soon as it is officially released, scheduled for October. A price that should reach the 320 euros once the pillow is out of production.

  • Hooti is an anti-snoring pillow with a rather unusual design.
  • It works thanks to AI and detects snoring using bone conduction.
  • The data is then sent to a dedicated application and the AI changes the shape of the pillow in real time.
