“Local strike notice”

This “local strike notice”, “filed by the majority union organisation representing air traffic controllers“, concerns the air navigation services of Lyon, Ajaccio and Montpellier, the administration specified in a press release, according to which delays are also to be expected all day at the airport. from Ajaccio.

The DGAC thus wants to “limit traffic disruptions” and avoid forced cancellations, once passengers are already in the airports, by matching the number of air traffic controllers available with the flow of aircraft to be managed.

On Monday, it invited “passengers who can to postpone their trip and to inquire with their airline to find out the status of their flight”.

Stop negotiations

The call for a strike was launched by the main French air traffic controllers' union, the SNCTA, on December 8, against a backdrop of difficult “negotiations on the organization of work”, according to the organization.

In a press release, the SNCTA management said “strongly condemns the abrupt end to negotiations concerning the organization of work in the Ajaccio, Lyon and Montpellier organizations for 2025”.

“Forgetting respect and social dialogue”, the administration “chooses rupture and deprives air traffic controllers in these centers of visibility control”, she said, warning that “the management practiced for months and denounced on several occasions must cease immediately”, and threatening, failing that, to “mobilize the profession more broadly”.
