The adventure continues for the Nîmes-Montpellier Alliance: after its new victory against the Austrians of Wels (3-1), the ANMTT of the Lebrun brothers has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Table Tennis Champions League.

A little over a week after their 3-0 victory against the same Austrians in the first leg, the new success of Vincent Avril's men allows them to be among the eight best European teams.

For a place in the last four, the Alliance will face the German club Borussia Düsseldorf, where the world number 11, the German Dang Qiu, and the 18th, the Swede Anton Kallberg, play. The first leg is scheduled for the weekend of January 17-19 in Montpellier or Nîmes, the return between February 14 and 16.

Félix Lebrun qualifies the ANMTT

Late Sunday afternoon in northwestern Austria, Esteban Dorr got this round of 16 off to an ideal start by winning in three sets against the local Andreas Levenko (11-4, 11-7, 11-8). Before Félix Lebrun did the same by beating another Austrian, Maciej Kolodziejczyk (11-8, 11-5, 12-10).

Facing the German Felix Wetzel, Alexis Lebrun was not far from wrapping up the affair by leading two to zero in his match, before finally losing in five sets (11-4, 11-7, 9-11, 8-11, 4-6). Leaving the honor to his little brother Félix Lebrun to conclude by beating Levenko (11-6, 11-4, 11-9).

After four matches in eight days, the Lebrun brothers will finally be able to rest a little during the holidays, from this Monday, December 23 to 27. To digest and end a historic year in every way. Finally.
