“Alleviating the suffering of children and their families”: for Christmas, magic tricks for children in hospitals in the Thau Basin

In Sète, children hospitalized in the pediatric department of the Bassin de Thau hospital center will experience some magical moments at the end of the year. The association Magie à l’hôpital, which has taken on the challenge of sending 10,000 magic boxes across French pediatric departments, is placing its wand on the Bassin de Thau Hospitals.

Magic box

The department will receive a magic box designed by the association. In it, hospitalized children will find thirty magic tricks explained and a few magician's accessories to transform their hospital rooms into a show stage. “For nearly twenty years spent at the bedside of hospitalized children, we have noted that these moments of escape contribute considerably to alleviating the suffering of children and their families”, emphasizes the association, which is not at its first attempt in Sète.

Last September, Magie à l'hôpital had already allowed the distribution of magic tricks within the Sète establishment, as part of the national event “The biggest day of magic in hospitals”. The pediatrics department had received a pack of cards, as well as three tricks and a magician's kit, to perform with the children.

The association is launching an appeal for generosity until December 24. Each magic box can be sponsored for the sum of €10 on the website magie-hopital.com.
