And now the PS5 is used to… reheat your pizza

Spread the love

For a few days now, the small world of video games has been shaken up by the arrival on the market of a new, much-maligned machine: the PS5 Pro. A new PlayStation & #8220;mid-gen” which allows you to enjoy certain improvements on several dozen compatible games. And if the visual gain is as undeniable as it is subtle (depending on the games), it is the price of the machine that is debated, with a price of €799… without a disc player.

An accessory to keep your pizza warm… thanks to the heat emitted by the PS5 ?

In use, the PS5 Pro remains very (very) similar to its big sister, the PS5 Slim. For our part, if the first PS5 was a model of silence in terms of operation, the PS5 Slim already worked less discreetly, with an audible (but nevertheless discreet) fan at the slightest launch of a game. The observation is similar with the PS5 Pro, whose noise remains (on our model in any case) identical to that of the PS5 Slim.

At Pizza Hut, we wanted to ride the (bad) PS5 Pro buzz, by creating another buzz. Thus, the pizza brand announced the creation of a box to keep your pizza warm. A box called PIZZAWRMR, whose concept is based on being used with a PS5. So, by placing the object on Sony's PS5, you keep your pizza warm using the heat emitted by the console.

Of course, this is all a big joke, and the PIZZAWRMR box does not officially exist, even if the brand has put online a plan allowing you to print the box using a 3D printer. Obviously, for the good health of your PS5, placing an object on the console is to be avoided, as is locking it in a piece of furniture. But in reality, Pizza Hut is going a bit off track with its buzz, and is trying to surf on the popularity of Sony's console, even if it means “forget” competition.

Indeed, as mentioned above, it is a fact that the new PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro tend to emit fan noise, unlike an Xbox Series X which remains a model of absolute silence. The publication signed Pizza Hut suggests that the PS5 would tend to overheat during use. However, even if the PS5 fan is more or less audible depending on the positioning of the console in space, the PS5 has never shown the slightest problem related to any overheating. The PIZZAWRMR buzz therefore does not really have any reason to exist in reality. Sure, the joke is still funny, but it makes no sense, pointing out a pseudo overheating of the PS5.

In reality, the heating of the PS5 would even be equivalent, or even lower… to that of the Xbox Series X. This was already the case in 2020 when the two consoles were launched, and according to recent tests carried out on the PS5 Pro, the latter report a temperature (in game) of around 46°, compared to 48° for the Xbox Series X…
