A private space for your sensitive applications

One of the biggest new features in Android 15 is the addition of a “private space”. The latter is designed like a small safe to store applications that you do not want to display on your phone and is only accessible by biometric authentication or code. It is even possible to hide the private space itself to leave no trace of it.

Automatic locking in the event of theft

Android 15 allows your smartphone to use artificial intelligence to detect a case of theft. If the phone detects that someone has stolen your phone and runs away, Android 15 will automatically lock it.

This locking is also possible remotely via another device that you own and connected same account as your stolen smartphone.

More controls for foldable tablets and smartphones

If you own a recent Android tablet or foldable smartphone, Android 15 will give you a few extra features. It will now be possible to pin the apps of your choice to the taskbar or pair certain apps to automatically launch them together in split view.

Other notable new features

Among other additions in Android 15, Google announces better results for the “low light boost” on the camera. This should help you get slightly better shots when the light around your smartphone is low.

For devices from other brands, you will have to wait until the end of 2024 and depending on your model.
