Le passage de relais entre Antoine Vens et Jean-Claude Moulin, sous les yeux du préfet, athlète émérite.
After nine terms, the founder of the Marvejols-Mende half-marathon is stepping down. He is being replaced by a young runner from Éveil mendois.
The general meeting of the Lozère departmental athletics committee was held a few weeks ago in Mende, in the presence of the outgoing president of the Occitanie Athletics League, André Olive, and the new president, Marc Congras.

The number of points scored this season is consistent with that of recent seasons. Athlé Lozère, with 2,315 points, is 209th out of 3,000 clubs in France and 17th in Occitanie. Individually, the leaders among the girls are Aurélie Barrial and Anne Moulin; among the men Corentin Capelier and Guilhem Hermet. The committee organized training courses for the young categories in Saint-Chély-d’Apcher and Malzieu-Ville, under the direction of Patrice Bourgin.
The financial report shows a very slight financial surplus for the season. All reports were voted unanimously. The second part of the meeting concerned the election of the new office for four years, Jean-Claude Moulin no longer standing after 36 years of uninterrupted presidency, or nine successive mandates.
Under his leadership, Athlé Lozère was created 25 years ago to bring together the main Lozère sections under one jersey and to pool transport, among other things. The last three presidents of the FFA – Philippe Lamblin, Bernard Amsalem and André Giraud – all visited Mende at his invitation.
At the end of the vote, nineteen members were elected by secret ballot out of twenty-three candidates. The new steering committee then elected Antoine Vens as president. The latter proposed his office and the main commission managers among the elected members.
The new president is a young runner from the Éveil mendois. He announced the next competition for all Lozère clubs, the departmental cross-country championship, which will be twinned with that of Aveyron, in Saint-Rome-de-Tarn, on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
