Always looking to diversify, Apple could launch itself into the surveillance camera market. At least that's what analyst Ming Chi Kuo, a generally well-informed source, is reporting in his latest blog post. According to the post, mass production of Apple's first security camera would start in 2026. And the firm would aim for a production of more than 10 million units per year.

In order to promote this product, Apple could rely on the integration of the camera with its ecosystem, as well as compatibility with the Siri assistant and with Apple Intelligence. Furthermore, it should be remembered that Apple has made confidentiality its hobby horse. And if you trust the Cupertino firm for your most personal data, it is very likely that you will also trust it for the surveillance of your home.

New products to ensure growth ?

Today, Apple is one of the most valuable companies in the world. And its latest quarterly results are simply excellent. However, the company must find new growth opportunities. According to a recent analysis by journalist Mark Gurman (Bloomberg), if it does not offer a new product that would reproduce the success of the iPhone, Apple could instead focus on smaller bets that ensure its growth (new product categories comparable to the iPad or the Apple Watch).

Moreover, rumors also suggest that Apple is preparing a connected screen, comparable to Amazon's Echo Show or Google's Nest Hub, which would serve as a control center for connected devices in the home. The firm is also interested in connected glasses. And in his recent publication, analyst Ming Chi Kuo explains that the firm could rely on new health features to boost sales of its AirPods headphones.

  • Production is expected to start in 2026 and the firm is considering a production of more than 10 million units per year
