Becoming CEO of Apple in 2011, Tim Cook clearly seems immovable at the head of the Cupertino company. In a recent interview with Wired, the leader nevertheless returned to the question of his departure and retirement.
< h2>Tim Cook preserves the mystery
He was thus asked how long he thought he would remain CEO of the Apple brand. A question that visibly embarrassed him since he responded with a humorous pirouette indicating that he was being asked this question more and more, no doubt because his hair was going gray. He says he loves this place and what he does, a sign that it is not for tomorrow.
He specifies in this regard: “It is the privilege of a lifetime to be here. And I will do it until the voice in my head tells me that the time has come”. Anyone expecting a more precise answer should therefore be left wanting more.
However, the boss has already indicated in the past that he will not be at the helm of Apple for more than 20 years. In plain language, this means that he will no longer be leading the company in 2031, which gives a very broad horizon. Tim Cook has also stated that he would like to be replaced by someone who is already working for Apple when he leaves.

Four main qualities stand out: the ability to collaborate in a team, curiosity, creativity, and expertise. To learn more about this, feel free to reread our previous article here.
It is of course impossible at this stage to know the person who will replace him at the head of the company. Often well informed about the mysteries of the Cupertino firm, journalist Mark Gurman said that it could be John Ternus, current senior vice president of hardware engineering.
And for good reason, the latter is still relatively young, 49 years old, and he already has important responsibilities within the tech giant. He notably supervised the engineering of Macs, then his skills extended to other products, including the iPhone. Whether that will be enough to take the throne remains to be seen.
