Discreet, but promising. During Apple's latest earnings call, Tim Cook alluded to the tech giant's efforts to offer new products based on artificial intelligence.

Concretely, he explains like this:

As we look to the future, We will continue to invest in these and other technologies that will shape the future that includes artificial intelligence, into which we continue to devote considerable time and effort and we're excited to share details of our ongoing work in this space later this year.

Announcements in June  ?

We will not know more for the moment, but this seems to correspond with the timetable mentioned by certain observers who are counting on announcements from the Cupertino company during the next WWDC in June.

Recently, Tim Cook explained this relative modesty in the Apple brand's ads: “Our modus operandi, if you like, has always been to do work and then to talk about work, and not to put ourselves in front of ourselves and so we'll stick to that as well. But we have some things that we're incredibly excited about that we'll talk about later this year.”

The CEO also confided that Apple is investing a lot, but responsibly, in AI, and that it will eventually bear fruit. These efforts could in particular help with a significant overhaul of the virtual assistant Siri which, many users admit, is not a fully satisfactory product at present.

< p>Note that the conference made it possible to announce contrasting results for Apple with an increasing turnover (119.58 billion, compared to 117.9 over the same period a year earlier). Investors were, however, disappointed by a 13% drop in sales in China, a very important market for the Cupertino company.

Eyes are now turning to the United States with the release of the new Apple Vision Pro headset. There is no doubt that better than expected sales figures and the prospect of a new market could improve investor optimism.

For your part, what do you think of Tim Cook's recent announcements on AI ? Do you have any particular expectations regarding the implementation of these technologies on Apple products ? Say tell us in the comments.

What to remember:

  • Tim Cook promises that Apple is working a lot on AI
  • He teases announcements for this year
  • All eyes turn to the United States with the release of the new Vision Pro headset
