While brands like Samsung, Google, Xiaomi and Honor already offer folding smartphones, Apple does not seem to be in any hurry to launch itself on this market. However, many rumors are already circulating about the folding iPhones that Apple is secretly working on. And in fact, one of these rumors recently mentioned a way that Apple would have found to stand out from the crowd, when it finally markets the folding iPhone.

The folding iPhone in 2026 ?

In a recent publication, the X account “Jukanlosreve”, which relays a Korean media, indicates that the production of the foldable iPhone would begin in May 2026 and this model should also be marketed in 2026. The device would have a smartphone-tablet format, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold, and the Cupertino company would plan an annual production of 15 to 20 million units. According to this new rumor, Samsung would be the one supplying the foldable screens to Apple.

But the most interesting thing is that, according to the publication of “Jukanlosreve”: “It is expected to have the most advanced technology, surpassing all existing foldable devices.” Unfortunately, it does not give more details. But in any case, it would make sense that, since Apple was late to the foldable smartphone market, it would offer something that stands out. For example, Apple could offer a foldable screen without a fold mark (a problem that no manufacturer has solved so far).

Real new features from 2025 ?

As usual, caution is advised, since this information does not come from an official source. But in any case, it would be normal for Apple to finally try to surprise its fans, by offering major new features in terms of design. Moreover, this could start in 2025, with the release of the iPhone 17 Air. According to rumors, next year, Apple would not offer an iPhone 17 Plus, but would replace it with the iPhone Air. This would be an iPhone whose design would be radically different from that of the previous models, and which would also be very thin. On the other hand, in order to offer this ultra-thin design, Apple would make some concessions in terms of the technical specifications.

  • There are already many rumors circulating about the future foldable iPhone
  • And according to one of them, Apple is planning to use a technology not found on any competing model to stand out
  • The source of this new rumor does not give more details, but it is possible that Apple has found a way to eliminate fold marks on foldable smartphones
