The Saint-Césaire Seniors Club, Les Violettes, organized its end-of-year meal this December. A little dormant a few years ago, the club has been revitalized by an extraordinary management team headed by Grégoire Abad, a happy president: “Today there are 65 members present, it's great. The club is doing really well because the atmosphere is excellent.”

Catherine Jehanno and Chantal Barbusse, municipal councillors at the Aînés, excused, being held up by other events, Grégoire Abad welcomed Richard Tibérino, president of the Nîmes Ouest-Saint Césaire neighbourhood council representing the mayor Jean-Paul Fournier, and Franck Proust, president of Nîmes Métropole, who recalled his promise for 2023: “Having been retained last year, I promised you to come this year. It is with great pleasure that I share a glass of friendship with you today. This club is dynamic, I congratulate you on what yous are doing, well done.” He took the opportunity to remind people of the 10% reduction in the household waste tax next year. Richard Tibérino was about to reveal his scoop, full of humor: “I have affection for this club that I have known for 23 years, and I have a thought for those who cannot be here today. I remember my dances with Madame Chabaud. Here it is different and, as I have been saying for some time, I campaign for Saint-Césaire to become a principality!”

After the laughter and applause, Grégoire Abad recalled that the club was organizing the Christmas tea on Friday, December 20, the Kings' cake on Friday, January 17, as well as the bingo that will take place, and especially the party that is being prepared for the club's 50th anniversary in 2025. Freed from his municipal obligations, Julien Plantier, first deputy mayor, also came to greet the seniors. The party was great, the Elders were happy.
