After collecting donations for the Restos du Coeur at the Raoul Barrière stadium, during an ASBH match, a distribution took place this Wednesday, December 18. Young hopefuls from the club were alongside volunteers.

“The ASBH suggested that we do a collection. They had announced it on their website and we were at the stadium. Even if we didn't collect as much as hoped, the donations are added to our stock that we are distributing today”, explains Denis Colle, head of the Restos du cœur on avenue de la Marne in Béziers, where around 800 beneficiaries are registered. The food and hygiene donations, collected during the ASBH match on December 13, were distributed this Wednesday, December 18.“For the 2nd year, we asked our supporters. It is important for the club to have a good image with its supporters and residents, and to set an example. We work with several associations that need a spotlight”, confides Mathis Jouret, sales representative for ASBH.

4 volunteer hopefuls

Although the club did not collect the expected volume of donations, due to a lack of communication about the operation in advance, it is pleased to have four young players, hopefuls, alongside the volunteers, to help with the distribution that day. “I look at the points they have and depending on that I give them a certain quantity of food, pasta, rice, etc. It is important to help those in need. These are our values, sharing and living together, confides Julien Rasamoelina. The solidarity operation comes at a time when the values of Rugby are tarnished by cases of domestic violence affecting two of the club's players. “It concerns the players, it's between them, it's their business… eludes the young player, we don't really know about it and we don't talk about it”. “We shouldn't mix everything up, Frédéric Debos, head of communications, gets annoyed, this operation was planned for a long time, and we carry out solidarity actions all year round, we collect toys, we take part in marauding, we diversify these actions to help as many people as possible”.
