Austrian GP: Alpine to confirm, Gasly in the long run

Spread the love

The French team has been performing better for several Grands Prix. On Sunday, a new opportunity will be given to Pierre Gasly, just renewed, and Esteban Ocon to confirm this improvement in Austria.

There is something better at Alpine. At the back of the grid at the start of the season, the fault lies with a poorly-functioning A524, the French team has found its way back into the race. colors in recent weeks. In Canada as in Spain last weekend, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon managed à enter the points, ranking à each time respectively ninth and tenth. Enough to overtake Haas and move up à seventh place in the constructors' world championship. Above all, for a few races, the two French drivers have managed to achieve their goal. do at least as well as the Aston Martins and Racing Bulls and à appear as the most efficient behind the untouchables Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes.

This improvement in the team's results has strangely come to pass. after the damaging episode in Monaco where Ocon and Gasly collided in a rather stupid way on the first lap of the Grand Prix, costing the abandonment of the first named ;, not spared; then by Bruno Famin, the boss of the Blues. Ocon, no longer too much in the odor of holiness at Alpine, will not leave for a fifth year with the French team and today finds himself in search of ;#39;a steering wheel for 2025. This is not the case for Gasly whose contract extension for several seasons (the exact duration has not been confirmed). eacute; made official this Thursday.

''I really feel at home in this great team,” confided' the Normand, in the Top 10 of the last three races, in the press release; I enjoy being an integral part of the team. both the Formula 1 project and the broader vision of Alpine Cars. I have been there for more than eighteen months officially and the goal has always been to achieve this. to build in the long term with the team. If the track season has been successful, difficult so far, I remain faithful to the project. I am satisfied with the changes made, the hard work and the hard work that has been done. and the direction taken by the stable.'' A work that begins à bear fruit within a team seeking stability. after having undergone a lot of changes in recent months.

In Austria this weekend, the blue and pink single-seaters intend to confirm their revival and still score points. It will then perhaps be time for the leaders to announce who will replace Ocon in the seat next year. Even if the issue is tricky, Alpine still hopes to attract Carlos Sainz, although announced as for some time at Williams. But the recent arrival of Flavio Briatore as advisor within the French team seems to have instilled a new lease of life. a new dynamic at Alpine.
