A passenger named John Butler, recounted his misadventure on X. This man had to pay almost €150 because the straps of his backpack were a few centimeters longer than the gauge that measures the authorized dimensions.

“Absolutely disgusting”

“Your staff refused to answer any questions… But threatened the children that they would not have a vacation because the door would close without payment!!! Absolutely disgusting behavior… Happy New Year”, the father of the family protests through a publication on his X profile.

“The handles are above the authorized level!!! So it will cost you €60 more to board!!!. The door will close if you take more photos”, the cabin crew reportedly explained to him before boarding. The man asked Ryanair for an explanation.

Different regulations

Not all airlines have the same regulations regarding the required dimensions of baggage. For example, for this Irish company, they must be within the dimensions 40 x 25 x 20 cm, and be able to be stored under the seat.
