Bagnols-sur-Cèze: florist Laurence Voignier, a beauty creator honored by her peers

Spread the love

Laurence et Frédéric Voignier vont bientôt célébrer leurs noces d’argent… Ils œuvrent ensemble rue Crémieux, dans leur atelier-boutique Aux fleurs de Provence. Midi Libre – C. C.

With her husband Frédéric Voignier, she has worked in the boutique "Aux fleurs de Provence", rue Fernand-Crémieux, since 1997. She chaired the Gard florists' union for ten years and in 2013 was the first female Master Florist in the department. The Chamber of Trades and Crafts has just honored her…

In 2013, she was the first female Master Florist in the Gard. Laurence Voignier is a passionate, dynamic and always smiling person. Her grandmother loved flowers and her grandfather, an agricultural engineer, passed on to her this love of the plant world. This kingdom whose “vibrations have always attracted me. All this grace and beauty have always astounded me”.After a BTS in horticulture with a floriculture option, Laurence Voignier decided to go into research at INRA, which was then building a global library of plant viruses. “I worked on viral plant pathologies. Researchers from all over the world came to Montpellier.” Then, she worked for a while as a florist. At 26, she began studying midwifery. But her destiny was definitely full of flowers: she met her husband, a florist! In 1997, Laurence and Frédéric Voignier created “Aux fleurs de Provence” in Bagnols, which has become a real institution. “I trained at the Chamber of Trades and in a private school to keep up with the times. It's a profession in its own right. I developed my passion for floral art”, she shares. She is so involved that she will chair the Gard Florists’ Union for ten years to defend this profession. She will also be a municipal councilor in Bagnols for six years. “I juggled all of that ardently. I tried to make things move forward.” At the same time, she developed other talents, for the “good of others, of life in general”, as an energy healer and magnetizer.

Intuition and creativity

On November 28, 2024, she was invited by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Gard for an evening in the presence of 300 people. “There were several master craftsmen honored.” And there, surprise (and emotions), she is invited on stage. She receives the Artisan Recognition Award, Talent d'art. “It's a consecration. All my involvement in this profession was cited.”A title she shares with Frédéric: “It's thanks to him that I was able to do everything.” The duo adapts to the clients' requests, “from the most classic to the most original. We do a lot of personalized creations. I've decorated a lot of bridal shoes. I like colorful compositions, orchids… I like working with rare essences, natural things…”. “She is intuitive, she can sense what people like”, confides Frédéric.
Laurence Voignier greets her colleagues on rue Fernand-Crémieux, a street of “quality, excellence. I invite all Bagnolais to come and bring the city center to life. I love my city, it is magnificent, I want it to regain its nobility. And I do not criticize anyone: I know how difficult it is to move things forward”.
Joy, lightness and optimism, flowers are in good company with Laurence.
