A solidarity race for the victims of Mayotte

#SÈTE –More than a hundred people from Sète did not hesitate to take part in the “Run solidaire” organized this Saturday, January 4, 2025 by US Sète athletics on the Lido de Sète. A race set up at short notice to benefit the victims of cyclone Chido in Mayotte. A great success in terms of attendance. The club registered no fewer than 114 registrants (free of charge). Young and old, running or walking, with or without their pet, the runners took part around 4 p.m. on two courses (5 and 10 km) with a return in the sand. And everyone made a donation. Small amounts that ultimately allowed the USSA to raise €1,177, which was donated to the Red Cross.

New air destinations opened

#NÎMES – Announced on October 21 for the end of 2024, the opening of seven new air routes from Nîmes-Grande-Provence-Méditerrannée is partly coming to fruition after a postponement and a hiccup. From the website of the airline L’Odyssey, it is indeed possible to book a flight from Nîmes to Nice, Ajaccio and Bastia or even Bergamo, in Italy, a city located 45 km north of Milan. The first fares are displayed at 69 euros for a one-way ticket to Nice (on May 30, 2025). Jet Airlines, the company of L’Odyssey, will operate one flight per week to each destination from Nîmes. Regarding the routes to Geneva, Verona or Barcelona, ​​also in the pipeline, reservations are not yet open. The safe and certain opening of these three lines has not been confirmed this Friday, January 3, 2025, the modalities are still being determined by the airline.

International Political Film Festival: the full jury

#CARCASSONNE – Actress Anne Consigny (nominated for a César in the Best Actress category) and producer Christophe Rossignon (La Haine, En guerre) complete the Fiction jury of the Carcassonne International Political Film Festival, which is being held from January 16 to 20. They join actress Alice Isaaz, Franco-Algerian director Mounia Meddour (Papicha, Houria) and actor Pierre Deladonchamps (César for Most Promising Actor in 2014), to award the Grand Prize for Best Fiction Feature Film and the Special Mention. Noémie Honiat, based in Aveyron, Bruno Comerais and Gers chef Michel Sarran will judge the quality of the work of the bakers in Aigues-Mortes, Sainte-Croix-de-Quintillargues, Garons and Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas.
