23:30 – New Parisian defeat, the summary of the match

After four points in four games and a defeat against Atlético Madrid, PSG was expected to face Bayern Munich this Tuesday evening. While Luis Enrique made a strong choice by starting Matvey Safonov in place of Gianluigi Donnarumma. With four midfielders in midfield and a Dembélé – Barcola duo up front, the Parisians had the objective of achieving a feat in Bavaria, but the Bavarians were not of the same opinion. From the kick-off, Leroy Sané and his partners press and corner Luis Enrique's players who cannot line up the passes. Safonov shows himself by making several periods to keep PSG “alive” but the Russian goalkeeper commits a foul on a corner. By relaunching the ball directly on Kim's head who pushes the ball into the back of the net, the Russian goalkeeper finds himself at fault on the German opening score (1-0, 38th).

After the break, João Neves' teammates came back with other intentions but Parisian hopes were quickly dashed. Before the hour mark, Ousmane Dembélé was sent off for a second yellow card after a foul on Alphonso Davies (58th). While Gonçalo Ramos made his return, the Paris Saint-Germain players never managed to endanger Bayern Munich, who continued until the final whistle. With this new defeat, PSG have their backs to the wall before the last three matches. More than ever, Luis Enrique's players need to collect points to avoid a terrible disappointment on the European stage.

23:25 – Three finals to play

With four points in five matches, Paris Saint-Germain no longer has a choice and will have to go and get points. But the calendar that awaits the capital club for the last matches seems complex:

  • Red Bull Salzburg on December 10 at 9 p.m.
  • PSG – Manchester City on January 22 at 9 p.m.
  • Stuttgart – PSG on January 29 at 9 p.m.

23:20 – Update on the standings

After Paris Saint-Germain's defeat on Tuesday night, the Champions League standings are quite worrying for PSG. The Parisians are currently in 26th place and are provisionally eliminated from the league stage.

23:15 – Dembélé joins Di Maria

23:10 – Marquinhos: "Three finals to play"

Marquinhos on Canal+: “(On the goal) I asked the referee what was happening because a player was blocking him (Safonov). He didn't play the ball, the goalkeeper couldn't do anything. We tried to clear the ball, but we didn't succeed. A goal from a corner, we know that it's important in a match. Last year we were trapped at Dortmund, and again today. We don't like to talk about the refereeing but he was really difficult against us, he didn't make things easy for us. All the doubts were for Bayern. On the goal, someone blocked the goalkeeper. He made his decision, he didn't give away a foul. Physically, they were more ready than us in the fights. We got better as the match went on. They're a team that we knew were going to press. We wanted to take the gap behind their midfielders. We took a few too many risks. We changed in the second half but with the red, it was too difficult. We have three games to play, three finals to play including a home game against City. It is our objective to qualify. We tried to play our game, even with ten men.

23:05 – A fatal exclusion ?

Trailing at half-time, the Parisians were reduced to ten men before the hour mark. After a foul on Alphonso Davies, Ousmane Dembélé received a second yellow card. Until the final whistle, the Parisians never managed to reverse the trend.

23:00 – Vitinha: "Our situation is difficult"

Vitinha on Canal+: "It's difficult. We gave it our all. After the red card, it was hard to make the effort. The first half was a pressing match and it was hard to play. I continue to “We have a very great team, that we can beat the best. Our situation is difficult. There are three games left and we will try to win all three games.”

Reduced to ten men after Ousmane Dembélé was sent off, Paris Saint-Germain suffered a third defeat in the Champions League this year.
