Just a few weeks ago, Meta began rolling out a brand new update to its WhatsApp app. With more than 2.4 billion users, the messaging application received a welcome makeover, with a brand new design. Obviously, over the course of updates, WhatsApp also proves obsolete on certain operating systems, the giant Meta gradually ending support for the application on the oldest smartphones .

More than 30 smartphones on the verge of losing access to WhatsApp

In fact, already last October, WhatsApp became incompatible with a selection of Android smartphones. “To choose which operating systems to no longer support, each year we identify the oldest devices and software, and those with the fewest users on their active” Meta then explained.

In 2024, no surprise, a new burst of smartphones will be affected by this incompatibility with WhatsApp. This will not prevent the smartphones in question from continuing to use WhatsApp, but users will then have to make do with a single version of the application, which will no longer benefit from # 8217;no updates.

As for Samsung, WhatsApp will soon become “incompatible” with Galaxy Ace Plus, Core, Grand, Note 3, Galaxy S, S3, S4 Active/mini and Zoom. Same sentence from Motorola regarding the Moto G and Moto LG Optimus 4X, G, G Pro and L7. Added to this are certain smartphones from Wiko and ZTE.

But the iPhone range is not spared. Thus, later this year, Meta will end support for WhatsApp on the iPhone 5 and 5C, on the iPhone 6S range, as well as on the very first iPhone SE. Apple users have been warned.
