Tourists are there more and more in increasing numbers but some prices show that the rates are still very accessible this summer.
It has been one of the most popular destinations for Europeans for several years, especially since the end of the Covid-19 health crisis. Having become trendy, it attracts more and more tourists each year, with a peak of more than 3 million travelers last year. And while inflation weighs on household budgets on a daily basis, holiday prices are also subject to various increases. Flights, accommodation and even food, prices have soared over the past two years. Surprise, this very popular destination fashion, however, is showing lower prices on many key holiday products.
In the UK, the Post Office Family Holiday report is the benchmark for comparing prices at holiday destinations. Its 2024 edition compared prices for ten essential family holiday items, including meals, snacks, drinks, sunscreen and mosquito repellent. The results are flattering for this destination, which is part of the Canary Islands.
Lanzarote, the easternmost island of the Canaries, is attracting more and more tourists thanks to its spectacular volcanic landscapes and pleasant climate all year round. And while some Spanish destinations are seeing their prices rise, Lanzarote still offers attractive rates, making it an ideal option for holidaymakers this summer.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000According to the latest annual report from the Post Office Family Holiday, holiday prices in Lanzarote have fallen by more than 7% compared to the previous year. The drop contrasts sharply with prices in destinations such as Ibiza, where costs have increased. Lanzarote recorded the biggest price drop of the 16 popular European resorts surveyed.
The Spanish island stands out for its particularly attractive prices for some essential holiday expenses. For example, the average price of a bottle of beer or lager in a café or bar will be 2.50 euros, while a glass of wine will cost less than three euros, 2.82 euros on average. Restaurant meals are also reasonable, although they can vary depending on the time of day. A two-course lunch for two adults costs an average of €27.62, while two pizzas or pasta dishes for children cost around €9.55.
A downside, however, is that Lanzarote enjoys an attractive climate all year round with temperatures exceeding 20 degrees, even in the middle of winter here. As a result, this destination is generally more expensive in winter when it is considered an El Dorado for European travelers desperate for sun and warmth. Prices can therefore rise while they can be more advantageous in summer, especially if we compare offers from spring.
Lanzarote remains a destination of choice for travelers looking for good deals this summer. With its volcanic sand beaches, coves, surf spots, and cultural monuments erected by local artist César Manrique, it offers a wide range of activities for family holidays.
