She finished ahead of Norwegian Maren Kirkeeide and Swedish Elvira Oeberg. Frenchwoman Océane Michelon finished just off the podium (18/20).
“I feel like a very long time has passed since Hochfilzen (Austria). The Grand Bornand (Haute-Savoie) stage has not wasn't great for me, so it feels good to be back on the podium with a victory”, reacted Jeanmonnot on the l'Equipe channel.
Disillusionment for Simon
Thanks to her victory, she climbs to 2nd place overall and is 116 points behind Germany's Franziska Preuss (599 points), who has had another poor performance after her sprint defeat on Thursday.
French biathlon is in great shape in Oberhof with 3 victories (with the women's and men's sprints) in as many events before the men's pursuit on Saturday afternoon (2:45 p.m.).
< p>Big disappointment for Julia Simon: starting 12th, the Frenchwoman came out of the prone shooting in first position before collapsing on the standing shooting with 5 errors and therefore as many penalty rounds. She finished 10th at more than a minute of Jeanmonnot. The surprise Paula Botet, who had shone on Thursday in the sprint, came 14th (15/20).
