Bison Futé: Black Saturday July 27, here are the latest traffic forecasts

Spread the love

BISON FUTÉ JULY 27. Black Saturday on the roads of France this Saturday July 27, the big day of departure on vacation. Here are the latest forecasts from Bison Futé.

A real nightmare in sight for motorists who will take to the road this Saturday, July 27, particularly for those who will head towards the coast and the traditional summer vacation spots. Already usually overloaded, the last weekend of July is coupled this year with the start of the Paris Olympic Games with additional trips to the capital… or to leave it as quickly as possible!

Add to that SNCF traffic that is still certainly disrupted by the attack suffered by the TGV network on Friday July 26 and you get an explosive cocktail of traffic jams and slowdowns on the country's main highways! Unsurprisingly, this Saturday July 27 is therefore classified as a “black” day on the roads.

From the early hours of the morning, Bison Futé predicts that the motorways linking the north to the south of France, such as the A7, the A10 and the A75, will experience particularly high traffic intensity. These routes, stormed by holidaymakers on their way to their summer destinations, will be congested all day long. The main roads serving the Atlantic coast, in particular the A63 and the N165, as well as those leading to The Mediterranean, such as the A8, A9 and A61, will also be extremely busy.

In Île-de-France, the first signs of slowdowns will appear in the morning on the A86 and A6B motorways, which converge on the A10 and A6, with more and more slowdowns as the morning goes on. To avoid major inconveniences, it is strongly recommended to leave or cross the Ile-de-France after 12 noon.

  • The A7, between Lyon and Orange, will be avoided from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and between Orange and Marseille from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • On the A8, between Le Luc and Italy, rush hours will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Similarly, on the A9, it is best to avoid journeys between Orange and Montpellier from 9am to 1pm, Montpellier and Narbonne from 10am to 3pm, and Narbonne and Spain from 11am to 2pm.
  • On the A10, the slots to avoid are: between Orléans and Tours from 6am to 1pm, between Tours and Poitiers from 9am to 11am, between Poitiers and Saintes from 9am to 4pm, and between Saintes and Bordeaux from 9am to 6pm.
  • If you are taking the A11 motorway, it is best to avoid driving between Le Mans and Nantes between 11am and 3pm.
  • For those planning to travel on the A63, it is advisable to not to travel between Bordeaux and Bayonne between 11am and 7pm.
  • Finally, on the A75, between Clermont-Ferrand and Beziers, the critical times are from 9am to 5pm, and on the A61, between Toulouse and Narbonne, from 11am to 4pm.

For the return, the forecasts are a little more optimistic. Classified “red” At the national level, traffic will be heavy on all major roads from mid-morning. The A7, A9 and A10 motorways will be particularly affected, with significant traffic jams expected. In the Paris region, traffic jams will be felt mainly on the A10, between mid-afternoon and early evening, causing sporadic congestion. For motorists heading towards Italy, the Mont Blanc tunnel (N205) will be Avoid between 6am and 7pm due to particularly heavy traffic. Have a good trip!
