A Humiliation in Front of the Press

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Nicola Peltz explained how she went about cutting her husband out of the editing. “I was directing a movie last year, that I wrote when I was 23. And Brooklyn is still furious with me. He said, 'Can I be in your movie ?' And I said, 'Oh my god, I'd be honored, but we have to dress you up.' Of course, he's covered in tattoos and he's British“, she says.

The actress goes on to reveal that her husband finally landed a small role. “He made a few appearances in the background, if you pay attention you can find him. But in one scene he said to me: 'Can I take the microphone, I mean a line ?'” A request that greatly amused the director: “I started laughing really hard. He had the most pronounced British accent ever. I ended up cutting it out!

“He was devastated”

The revelation of this anecdote in the press deeply hurt Brooklyn Beckham. A source told the Daily Mail: “Brooklyn loves to do different things. He's always looking for a new project, when it comes to his brand, he's smart, he's looked at his parents building theirs his whole life.

The same source adds: “&Being in a film that's coming out in Britain now would have been incredible for him and in his mind it could have led to more. But the fact is he just wasn't very good. Nicola had the chance of a lifetime to prove herself as a director. She had to let him down, she laughs about it but it was hard on her to do.” Contacted by the Mirror, spokespeople for Brooklyn and Nicola declined to comment.
