A major challenge! Long established on BFMTV, Bruce Toussaint joined TF1 on January 8, 2024, as the host of Bonjour!, the channel's morning show. A year after the debut of the competing show of Télématin, the journalist spoke in the columns of Télé Magazine. While he now has a very regular life, he explained: “A bit like babies, I eat and sleep at a set time. That's the key. I sometimes run into my son when he comes home from a party while I'm going to work. I also try to rest well on the weekends and disconnect”.
Even today, Bruce Toussaint can count on his wife Catherine Fruchon, and their two children to give him feedback on his work and talk to him “without filter”. “My children can be tough, but I'm used to it, I've steeled myself. Hello!, it's a strong and intense human adventure, we're all involved in it”, he assured.

To manage the pressure, the journalist has many rituals. “I'm a little superstitious and there are lots of little things I do every morning: I always have a Coca Zero with me on set, I care about my outfits, I always park in the same place in the TF1 parking lot”, he said before slipping in humorously: “Çit can be funny, but, for me, it's important“.
Asked about his technique for not missing his awakening, Bruce Toussaint later specified that it was a source of anxiety for him. “I'm obsessed with the idea of not waking up, I think about it every night. There is a whole system that is set up, my colleagues have my wife's number in particular, just in case. Çit never happened, but çit remains a anguish”, he confided.

For Télé 7 jours, the man who worked for a long time on Canal+ also congratulated himself on the audiences of Bonjour!. “In a hyper-competitive landscape, we have installed a morning show, whose audience is constantly increasing, with more than 300,000 viewers on average since the start of the school year. Beyond the figures, what satisfies me is that Bonjour! is becoming a meeting for more and more viewers. With the team, we are a small family, and I would like people to want to be part of it”, he said.
While a daily show requires “a constant work of adjustment”, Bruce Toussaint assured that he always tries to do better than the day before. “And I think already to the January and September 2025 back-to-school periods, to the new sequences”, he specified before analyzing: “It will take us time to really succeed in imposing ourselves. But I want to say one thing to your readers: to try us is to adopt us!”.
