Bugs, blue screens and blocked apps: Windows 11 version 24H2 accumulates problems

Windows 11 version 24H2 is consistently failing, which is starting to get annoying. Indeed, since the end of September, the new version of Microsoft's OS has been experiencing malfunctions a little too regularly. Blue screens, crashes due to incompatibility issues with certain CPU drivers (Intel Core 11th generation), internet connectivity issues, impossible to purge cache, etc. It's safe to say that the launch of this version has been rather tumultuous, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Windows 11 24H2: A Bad Year?

This is a question that many users must be asking themselves right now since this time, it is applications that are affected. Players of Asphalt 8 (a very popular arcade car racing video game) are paying the price, finding themselves with the steering wheel between their teeth when their game suddenly freezes.

The same fate for users of Safe Exam Browser, a software designed specifically to secure online exams, or VoiceMeeter, an audio mixing software. The blue screen, that old acquaintance that we hoped we would never see again, has made its big comeback and is therefore preventing the two applications from working properly.

Security is going crazy

As if that weren't enough, Windows Hello, the biometric guardian that's supposed to protect our precious machines, is also starting to act up. Fingerprint sensors and facial recognition cameras seem to have developed a sudden allergy to their primary function and are also experiencing problems.

Microsoft has also highlighted compatibility issues between Windows 11 24H2 and some versions of Intel Smart Sound Technology software, which is used to manage audio on many computers. Owners of ASUS laptops (models X415KA and X515KA) have reported systematic crashes after installing the update.

The cherry on top is that the Mobile Connect app is floundering. The latter allows you to connect your smartphone (Android or iPhone) directly to your computer. Rather practical, except that it stubbornly refuses to let go once the smartphone is paired. The instructions given by Microsoft to resolve the problem change absolutely nothing according to our colleagues at Clubic.

This succession of failures seriously raises questions about Microsoft's ability to guarantee the quality of its flagship, Windows 11, which is supposed to embody the technological excellence of the Redmond firm. Will the company be able to quickly correct the situation and maintain the quality standards expected of such an important operating system?  ? Even though the majority of users are still on Windows 10, but in a little less than a year, Microsoft will stop supporting it.

  • The Windows 11 24H2 update is accumulating blue screens, CPU crashes and connection problems.
  • Three applications are currently experiencing problems and Windows Hello is also buggy with this new version.
  • Since the start of the school year, Microsoft has been seriously struggling to restore the reliability of this version.
