The Call of Duty franchise has had its ups and downs since its inception in 2003. While some installments like Modern Warfare(2019) have managed to breathe new life into the series, others have shown the limits of an annual release schedule that is sometimes difficult to maintain. With Black Ops 6, Treyarch proves that it is still possible to surprise players by shaking up the codes while remaining faithful to the DNA of the series.

The year is 1991, Kuwait is in crisis, a Black Ops unit finds itself persona non grata after a mission goes wrong… The scene is set for a story that finally goes off the beaten track. Exit the clichés of the perfect American soldier, make way for a more mature narrative where each character has their dark areas, even when they try to do good.
If the scenario is finally a little more worked, the big innovation comes from the very structure of the missions. For the first time, Call of Dutyoffers real open areas to explore, with an economic system that allows you to upgrade your gear between missions. You can scour the environment for resources, interact with NPCs via dialogue choices, and even customize a HQ that serves as a hub between missions.
The missions are also more varied: Hitman-style crowd infiltration in costume, exploration of open areas for multiple objectives, and even a surprising horror sequence that has nothing to envy Bioshock. This 7-10 hour campaign proves that the series can still reinvent itself while keeping its spectacular moments.

If only one element were to define Black Ops 6, it would be omnimovement. This new mechanic allows for unprecedented freedom of movement: sprinting in all directions, 360° slides, tactical dives… The potential is enormous and radically changes the approach to combat.
Imagine the scene: you are on a rooftop, enemies are chasing you. Instead of simply running, you can now dive into the void while turning to retaliate, slide into cover as soon as you land, then sprint laterally to a new position. These action movie-inspired stunts become second nature once you master the system.
This mobility also fits perfectly into traditional COD gameplay. The gunplay, still as nervous, remains excellent with weapons that have character, served by a particularly successful sound design. The arsenal features over 20 weapons, all customizable via the now more intuitive gunsmith system.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000Already the savior of previous versions, the multiplayer mode takes full advantage of gameplay innovations. The 16 maps available at launch (12 main and 4 “Strike”) have been designed to exploit omnimovement. The main maps are particularly successful, each with its own personality: Lowtown and its underwater passages, Derelict and its interconnected wagons, or Payback with its interactive elements.
The level design shines with its controlled complexity: secret passages, multiple firing lines, assumed verticality… Even the most classic maps like Protocol or Vorkuta hide alternate paths that enrich the gameplay. Environmental interactions, like doors that can be opened or closed, add a welcome tactical layer.
The new “Execution Order” modebrings a breath of fresh air to multiplayer. In this 6v6, each team has a “priority target” that brings more points but whose position is permanently visible. This system creates an interesting dynamic between protection and hunting, renewing the classic experience of team deathmatch.

Treyarch's trademark Zombie mode is back in full force. The two launch cards, Liberty Falls and Terminus, are veritable battlegrounds. game full of secrets. Liberty Falls, with its wide streets, is perfect for newcomers, while Terminus and its narrow corridors challenge veterans.
The mode retains its iconic elements (Pack-A-Punch, GobbleGum, Mystery Boxes< /em>) while introducing new features like the Augmentation Research. This system allows you to gradually improve your bonuses (Perks, special ammunition) over the course of your games. The challenges offered by the AI S.A.M. add variety, while the ability to save solo and the optional third-person view modernize the experience.

Despite an overall impressive achievement in 4K/60fps on PS5, some problems remain. The Studio Mode, which is supposed to allow you to review and share your best moments, suffers from instability and may even crash the game. The facial animations sometimes lack naturalness in the cutscenes. A flaw that is all the more visible since the entire game is very well done.
The campaign HQ, although attractive, remains under-exploited. We would have liked more interactions, customization and additional content in this hub that could have further enriched the solo experience. Similarly, the “Strike” maps for close-quarters multiplayer don't live up to the main maps, suffering from either constant chaos or a certain monotony.
Some recurring problems of the series persist: sometimes illogical spawns in multiplayer, the possibility of spawn-killon some maps, and a Research Augmentation system in Zombie mode that is too slow and laborious. These flaws, while minor overall, are a reminder that even the best Call of Duty has room for improvement.
Black Ops 6represents a real tour de force for the franchise. Treyarch has almost achieved the impossible: to offer an episode that is both innovative and respectful of the essence of the series. Omnimotion is clearly the most important innovation of this new opus. It manages to rethink the gameplay without distorting it. The campaign is more attractive than ever, the multiplayer reaches new heights of quality, and the Zombie mode regains its former glory.
Certainly, some flaws persist, but they seem minor compared to the overall quality of the title. With its generous content, successful innovations and careful technical production, Black Ops 6 stands out as one of the best episodes of the franchise, if not the best. A must-have for FPS fans, whether they are used to the series or not.
