Is Camille Combal going to be absent for several weeks ?

Indeed, Camille Combal suffers from a very rare disease: keratocene, which affects the cornea of his &eye: “The cornea must be rounded. We are born with a cornea that is a little more pointed, the optic nerve corrects this and, at a certain point, stops correcting this imperfection and therefore we lose a lot of acuity, we do not lose our sight, but we lose a lot of acuity” he explained in Quotidien.

And for the host, it is possible to undergo a transplant to be able to resolve this problem. But if that's the case, he's going to have to be away for many months. After the operation, “there's a year where you almost have to take a sabbatical. You can't stand the light anymore, so there's this whole side where you can't do that job anymore.”

This disease genetics that affects his eyes

If Camille Combal will certainly suffer from not being present on television, the host knows that this transplant can change his life, he who sees almost almost “nothing” without his lenses. “I reached up to -13 and – 17 at my eyes (…) You can't see anything anymore, everything is completely blurry, you can't go out without someone holding your hand if you don't have your contact lenses”, he confided.

Having already had a transplant, Camille Combal is waiting for the second: “We are entering the world of transplants, with the expectation of obtaining one, it is perhaps not the most complicated organ to get“, he confided.
