20:30 – A serious match of the Fennecs, the summary

Trap avoided. After an inaugural victory against Equatorial Guinea, Algeria traveled to Liberia this Tuesday evening for the second match of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. On an artificial pitch, the Fennecs took time to find their marks against the Lone Stars, who were very playful and left spaces on the wings. Before the twentieth minute of play, Farsi pushed the ball from the point to Amine Gouiri who deceived Koulibaly on his left (0-1, 17th). Eight minutes later, the Greens are once again on the attack and Zorgane scores a gem. He recovers the leather thirty meters from the goal and sends a heavy and floating shot to leave the opposing goalkeeper far from the ball (0-2, 25th). In the process, the latter gives up his place to Songo who has shown himself clearly.

After the break, the Lone Stars came back with better intentions, pushing back the Algerians who have always managed the weak moments. At the start of the last quarter of an hour, Atal and Bounedjah came into play and made the difference three minutes later. On a counterattack, the right piston rolled down his wing and left his opposite number in the wind. The former OGC Nice player unleashed a strike, deflected by Songo who returned to the feet of the attacker who only had to push the ball into the back of the net. With this second victory, Algeria has made a perfect start to its qualifying campaign for the next African Cup of Nations.

20:20 – Next meeting in a month

In a month, the Fennecs will meet again for two new qualifying matches for the CAN 2025. On October 11 and 15, Vladimir Petkovic's players will face Togo in a double confrontation. At the same time, Liberia and Equatorial Guinea will challenge each other.

19:24 – Joga bonito

Alone along the left touchline, Hadjam escapes the opposing pressure thanks to a small bridge followed by a sole pass. What a sequence from the Algerian left piston.

19:20 – Mandrea in control

After a ride in the center of the field, Sangará strikes with his left foot but the ball comes without power and Mandrea easily grabs it.

19:19 – Yellow card

19:16 – Tougaï touched

À in the air fight with Peter Wilson, Tougaï remains on the ground. The defender has been touched in the face by the elbow of the opposing attacker.

19:15 – The Lone Stars miss

In the Algerian area, the ball regularly comes back to the Liberians who try to strike but all their attempts are missed.

19:12 – Gibson tries his luck

Having just entered the game, Peter Wilson is found in front of the Algerian surface. He controls by pivoting and puts himself on his left foot before triggering but it flies into the stands.

The Lone Stars kick off the last 45 minutes. Note the triple change of the locals: Gibson, Kumeh and Wilson replace Ernest, Kenneh and Sackor.
