On Thursday, February 6, the funeral of Catherine Laborde, who died at the age of 73 on the island of Yeu, took place at the Saint Roch church in Paris. Many personalities such as Évelyne Dhéliat, Pascal Praud, Guy Carlier, Jean-Luc Reichmann, her daughter-in-law Sarah Stern, and François Bayrou were present for this final farewell. Of course, Gabrielle and Pia, the weather girl's daughters, were also at the ceremony. A sober ceremony, “without flowers or wreaths”, as the deceased wanted. Also, as she wished, all donations will be donated to the association of caregivers and sick people of Lewy body disease, a type of dementia that resembles Alzheimer's or Parkinson's from which she suffered.
At Catherine Laborde's funeral, each member of her family showed a different attitude. Despite the pain, Gabrielle and Pia managed to offer smiles to the other guests. As for Françoise Laborde, she seemed very distressed. In several photos, we see her, her features drawn, greeting relatives. Her eyes are somewhat tumescent, as if she had cried (a lot). Thomas Stern, Catherine Laborde's husband for 12 years, has remained discreet.Dressed in a hat that meant the extreme cold and her usual glasses, she displayed a neutral attitude. Her rather closed face nevertheless said a lot about the pain that is probably going through her currently.

During the ceremony, the philosophy and advertising graduate gave a heartbreaking speech. “You had a soul, that's worth noting because it's starting to become rare. Nothing made you lose it, not even illness. I was alone with you when you stopped breathing,” he said in particular. He also thanked his daughters (he has two, but Gabrielle and Pia are obviously also part of this designation) for their “constant love in this long ordeal”.
After her speech, the daughters of the weather presenter also spoke. Pia, 34, notably declared : “Mom, we've said a lot of nice things to each other these last weeks but I'd like to add something. You said you were afraid of everything, while I saw you overcoming everything. Thank you for the gentleness, for the independence and the great freedom that you gave us. Look mom how surrounded we are today, we'll never be alone. Without you the clouds are less pretty but I will continue to look at them while thinking of you”.
Thomas Stern and Catherine Laborde: a passionate relationship
Thomas Stern and Catherine Laborde said “I do” in 2017. But they knew each other (and loved each other) well before that. In truth, the lovers had met in the 1990s. In his book The Sweet Joy of Being Cheated on, Catherine Laborde had spoken openly about her husband's infidelities. Infidelities that had for a time gotten the better of their relationship.
After several breakups and make-ups, the lovebirds had finally gotten back together. &At the age of 62, the weather presenter had said “yes” to him after four proposals.
