Many personalities such as Évelyne Dhéliat, Pascal Praud, Guy Carlier, Jean-Luc Reichmann, her daughter-in-law Sarah Stern, and François Bayrou were present for this final farewell. During the ceremony, the philosophy and advertising graduate gave a heartbreaking speech. “You had a soul, that's worth noting because it's starting to become rare. Nothing made you lose it, not even illness. I was alone with you when you stopped breathing,” he said in particular. He also thanked his daughters (he has two, but Gabrielle and Pia are obviously also part of this designation) for their “constant love in this long ordeal”.

You said you were afraid of everything, while I saw you overcoming everything. Thank you for the gentleness, for the independence and the great freedom that you gave us. Look mom how surrounded we are today, we'll never be alone. Without you the clouds are less pretty but I will continue to look at them while thinking of you”. 

Thomas Stern and Catherine Laborde: a passionate relationship

Thomas Stern and Catherine Laborde said “I do” in 2017. But they knew each other (and loved each other) well before that. In truth, the lovers had met in the 1990s. In his book The Sweet Joy of Being Cheated on, Catherine Laborde had spoken openly about her husband's infidelities. Infidelities that had for a time gotten the better of their relationship.

After several breakups and make-ups, the lovebirds had finally gotten back together. &At the age of 62, the weather presenter had said “yes” to him after four proposals.
