The terrible news broke on January 28th. “My darling, you left peacefully in your house on the Isle of Yeu that you loved so much. Around you were Gabrièle and Pia, your daughters, and Jimmy their father. And also your husband Thomas for your last days”, published on Instagram Françoise Laborde, making official the death of her sister, Catherine, à at the age of 73.
The former TF1 presenter had fought a long battle against a neurodegenerative pathology, Lewy body disease since 2014, with which she had been diagnosed in 2014. “I think it's the illness that will take her away, at one point or another. It's a shame, I would have liked it to last a long time, but I know that there will come a time when it has to stop”, she tragically predicted on the show Sept à huit, in 2020.
This Thursday, February 6, 2025, Catherine Laborde's relatives met at the Saint-Roch church, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, to pay a final tribute to the deceased. Shortly before the start of the religious ceremony, the guests gathered in front of the religious building. Photos taken at the gathering highlight a red rose on the lapel of their coats. The wink refers to a real flower named Catherine Laborde.
They were also several to wear it at the entrance to the church. These include Françoise and Gabrièle Laborde, sister and daughter of the deceased, but also Thomas and Sarah Stern, husband and daughter-in-law of the former TF1 star or Evelyne Dhéliat. Other celebrities have been spotted around Saint-Roch. The photos reveal the presence of Daniel Lauclair, Guy Carlier, Véronique Genest, Jean-Luc Reichmann, Pascal Praud, François Bayrou and Sébastien Follin.
While we do not know precisely who dictated the dress code for Catherine Laborde's funeral, Jean-François Guyot reports that the family did not want to see “neither flowers nor wreaths” at the burial.
The relatives of the essential figure of French meteorology have called to make donations “&to the association of carers and patients with Lewy bodies (http://a2mcl.org ), the disease from which Catherine Laborde suffered”.
