It's LG's new transparent TV and it's finally becoming a reality! 📺 CES2025 LG TV
♬ original sound – Presse-citron – Lemon Squeezer
Transparent TVs made their show in Las Vegas. But LG remains the brand that has made the most progress on this project that is several years old. For the first time, the Korean company announces the availability of its first transparent TV. If no precise date has been communicated, LG confirms a release this year.
The transparent TV works by using an external box that can be placed or stored in a piece of furniture. The image and sound are transmitted to the screen using wireless technology.
The company has perfected its industrialization process in order to reduce the loss rate. Although the brand can market its television, this rate remains high. Also, buying this device of the future costs a whopping $60,000 (gulp!).
And the image quality in all of this ? While past concepts had us somewhat worried, this first marketable TV is impressive. Transparency degrades image quality much less. We would even venture to say that it is excellent. For a movie night, a mechanism deploys a black canvas on the back of the screen. Amazing!

We knew about folding smartphones, now here are unfoldable PCs! 💻 CES 2025 Lenovo PC

Like the transparent TV, the PC with a rollable screen has come a long way. And like the transparent TV, it will be marketed for the first time this year.
At the origin of this laptop like no other, the Chinese Lenovo. After years of work, the world leader in PCs has finally managed to optimize its production lines to offer a machine with a rollable screen to the general public.
At first glance, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 looks like a typical laptop. With a 14-inch screen, the latest generation of Intel chips, and an elegant design, there’s no hint that it’s hiding one of the most innovative screen technologies available today.
With a simple press of a button on the keyboard, the user can unfold the screen vertically. It then reaches a diagonal of 16.7’’, an increase of 50%. Lenovo claims that the hinge can withstand at least 30,000 opening/closing cycles, while the flexible screen can endure 20,000 cycles.
“But what good is it”?” some will say. Excellent question. With this PC, Lenovo is adapting to new ways of consuming content. Videos are mostly viewed in vertical format, social networks are among the most important uses (some generations even use them as their main source of information). Reading articles is also much more comfortable on such a machine. Finally, the use of software/applications with a split screen offers more flexibility in terms of productivity.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000Of course, such technology comes at a high price. Lenovo has announced a price of $3,499 in the United States. We will therefore have to count on a price of around 4,000 euros in France.

Have you always dreamed of having a crazy cinema at home? CES2025 XGIMI Ascend
♬ original sound – Lemon squeezer – Lemon squeezer
The video projector specialist Xgimi caused a sensation at CES 2025 with the Ascend. This unusual soundbar prototype has impressed the international press.
3 meters long, it has 8 speakers (including 2 subwoofers) certified by Harman Kardon (Xgimi's partner for several years) and Dolby Atmos (for 360° sound).
The Ascend's “wow” effect is hidden within it. Indeed, a mechanism allows a 100-inch projection screen to be deployed.A cinema in your living room, provided, of course, that you associate it with a short-throw video projector (randomly the Aura 2 from Xgimi).
The canvas can also adapt to the content broadcast. It stops unrolling halfway to display the interface of a music streaming application. Only a quarter is displayed if you choose to broadcast a fireplace.
The Ascend is still at the prototype stage but Xgimi plans to market it by the end of the year. Its price (not yet fully set) should be around $3,000, to which you will have to add the price of a video projector. An Aura 2 is around $3,000. A complete configuration would therefore cost $6,000.

An electric car that recharges itself ? 😱 CES2025 electric car

Another project that has been going on for several years is finally going to be in the hands of consumers. The Aptera electric car, presented every year at CES since the 2019 edition, is finally going to come to life. This electric vehicle is the first to run on solar energy thanks to panels installed directly on the bodywork.
On the other hand, the company is revising its claims downwards. Exit the more than 1,000 kilometers of autonomy, the Aptera will be able to travel around 650 kilometerson a single charge, at a maximum speed of 160 km/h. Above all, it will be able to recover about 65 kilometers per day while driving. Condition sine qua non to fully enjoy this extraordinary vehicle: live in a very sunny region.
Although this project has received much criticism over the years, it will indeed become a reality in a few months. The company announced for the first time this year that the Aptera would go into production in 2025 for marketing in 2026, first in California. It remains to be seen whether this slightly crazy vehicle will be able to survive in an industry in the midst of a storm.

CES is also (especially?) an opportunity to discover surprising gadgets. The Aurzen Zip is THE signature product of a CES. This projector is the first in the world to be able to fold in three to become a pocket device. Square in shape, it can unfold to stream content with 720p definition on a diagonal of up to 55 inches. Brightness is capped at 100 lumens.
To stream content, users will be able to, at choice, opt for a screen mirroring from a smartphone or tablet or for a key (extra charge) to connect a console, computer or any other streaming device via an HDMI cable.
The Aurzen Flip is available at $299 in crowdfunding. It will then be marketed at $399. The additional key is offered at 119 dollars.
So, which innovation appeals to you the most ?
