The César celebrates its 50th anniversary on February 28, 2025. And to celebrate this somewhat special anniversary, the Academy has already announced some big names. This Monday, September 30, we learned in a press release that American actress Julia Roberts will receive an honorary César, rewarding her entire career in Pretty Woman à Erin Brockovich , via Closer , Ocean's Eleven ou Love at first sight à ; Notting Hill . It therefore succeeds ` Agnès Jaoui and Christopher Nolan, who received the equivalent award last year.
This second name announced by the Academy of Césars follows another, and not the least: it will indeed be Catherine Deneuve who will act as president of the ceremony, responsible for opening and closing the evening by presenting the César for Best Film. Let us recall that the actress had been rewarded at the César for Best Actress in twice (in 1981 for The Last Metro and in 1993 for Indochine ), for a total of 14 nominations. The films in competition will be announced on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
