Cindy Fabre: traumatized by a birth under general anesthesia

Cindy Fabre experienced a high-risk pregnancy. After seven months, following a hemorrhage, the future mother spent a week under observation in hospital. Her baby will be born three weeks later, a month early due to new bleeding. The delivery will finally take place under general anesthesia. A shock for the ex-Miss.

“And then it's a cold shower, we say to ourselves: 'what makes me need to fall asleep so badly?'. They tie my arms and tell me that there are too many risks”, recounted Cindy Fabre who described a brutal awakening with a strong feeling of “guilt.”

Cindy Fabre: without taboos about her postpartum

After this traumatic birth, Cindy Fabre encountered new difficulties, unable to get closer to her child. “I asked myself so many questions: 'am I the one with a problem?' […] I didn't feel anything. I wondered if it was my child. Who could assure me? I told myself that I wasn't necessarily born to be a mother”, continued the Dijon native.

And to continue: “I admit it, it will take me a year to build a bond with my son, the trauma was long”, she revealed, without taboo. “My anxieties dissipated when he grew up, I recognized character traits. My mother has a dimple on her right cheek, I have one and when Elio started to smile, his dimple appeared. And there, I said to myself: 'yes it's mine'”, she concluded. A testimony that will speak to many women.
