Official Citroën drivers, brothers Yohan and Léo Rossel, originally from Saint-Jean-du-Gard, will compete together in the World Rally Championship in WRC2.

It had to happen! Thanks to the renewed confidence of the manufacturer Stellantis, Yohan Rossel and his younger brother Léo will team up next year in the World Rally Championship. Starting with the Monte Carlo Rally, from January 22 to 26, and then at least six other rounds of the World Championship, the brothers from Saint-Jean du Gard will share a common goal for the first time under the banner of Citroën Racing and the entourage of the PH Sport team. A WRC2 program that they will lead as official drivers of the brand at the wheel of a car that no longer holds any secrets for them: the C3 Rally2.

Without benefiting from the slightest opening – and especially the necessary budget – to climb the supreme level of WRC1, Yohan Rossel is thus setting off for a third consecutive campaign in WRC2. Having come close to the world title in the last two years, before finishing just off the final podium each time, he will be one of the big favourites in 2025 alongside his co-driver Arnaud Dunand. “Continuing to represent Citroën at the highest level is a source of pride and being able to share it with my brother Léo adds a family and passion dimension”, emphasises the eldest of the Gard siblings.

“A dream that becomes reality”

On the side of his younger brother, recently crowned French champion at the end of a almost perfect season, notably punctuated by a victory at the Critérium des Cévennes, this deserved accession to the world championship is a new milestone.

“Becoming French champion was already an incredible milestone in my career. And now, reaching the world championship is a real dream come true”, enthuses Léo, who will find co-driver Guillaume Mercoiret on his right.

Thus, in a totally unprecedented manner, no fewer than four Gard drivers will compete in the WRC2 world championship next year, with the Rossel brothers' programme joining the already confirmed presence of Pablo Sarrazin and Sarah Rumeau from Alès.
