After two weeks of hearings very focused on psychiatrists and on the case of Isaac Brouillard Lessard, coroner Géhane Kamel will look into the police's point of view over the next two weeks. Many agents and officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) as well as other police forces will testify.
The three police officers who intervened with Maureen Breau during the tragic events of March 27, 2023 will testify on March 13, while several other SQ police officers will be called to testify during the other days of hearings.
Police officers William Berrouard, Constant Perreault and Frédérique Poitras will testify. They will be accompanied by Sergeant Julie Grimard, station manager in Louiseville, who will also testify on Wednesday.
The investigation will also focus on questions of use of force techniques. Several officials who are either trainers or those responsible for evaluation regarding the use of force at the SQ will be heard.

During the commission's hearings, differences between police services in the provinces could also be discussed. To this end, representatives of the SQ in Montreal, the City of Montreal Police Department and the Trois-Rivières Police Department will also speak with Coroner Kamel.
On March 14, the coroner will also meet stakeholders from the health and social services sector, including an ambulance driver, a dispatcher for the Communication Center in health of Mauricie–Centre-du-Québec and a social worker who works for the Trois-Rivières police department.

During the last week, it is also possible that Maureen Breau's parents or partner will testify. Their names are included on the list of speakers for March 19, but it is indicated that the testimony will be given at their convenience.
The mayor of Louiseville, Yvon Deshaies, as well as the director general of the municipality, Yvon Douville, could also testify on March 18.
During the first two weeks of public hearings, around thirty people spoke. The majority of them testified about Isaac Brouillard Lessard, the assailant who stabbed Maureen Breau before dying under police bullets a few minutes later.
The testimonies of Serge Brouillard, Sandra Lessard and Denis Lessard, three members of Isaac Brouillard Lessard's family, were heard during the second week of the hearings.
Coroner Kamel has repeatedly questioned the vagueness that reigns within the health system between, on the one hand, the obligations that psychiatrists have to carry out medical follow-up with their patients and, on the other hand, the role of guardian of the behavior imposed on them by respecting the orders of the Administrative Tribunal of Quebec.
Throughout the hearings, speakers testified about the interactions they had with family members. They constantly tried to warn psychiatrists, social workers and police officers of how dangerous their son was when he was in a psychotic state.
