A few months ago, Google introduced Vids, a new app in its Workspace productivity suite that uses Gemini’s artificial intelligence to create videos. And this week, the company announced the availability of this new tool to some paid Workspace users. Vids is not a competitor to Sora, OpenAI’s AI generates video clips from text descriptions, but rather a tool for businesses that allows employees to generate presentation videos with extreme ease, which is why it is integrated into Google Workspace.

In any case, for people who regularly need to create videos, whether for technical support, training, or a meeting with colleagues, Vids should save a lot of time. Starting with a description and a file, Vids is able to generate a storyboard. The user can then choose a style, and the AI will offer an editable draft. “Gemini composes your video project with scene suggestions, including recommended media, text, per-scene scripts, and even a background music track,” Google explains.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000For those who aren’t comfortable with their own voices, Vids also offers a selection of synthesized voices. Otherwise, the tool includes a teleprompter as well as an editing tool that will allow you, with the help of AI, to remove gaps in your audio recording. However, for now, the most important features of Vids are only available in English. “Currently, Vids is available in the user’s local language, but the AI features (e.g. Help me create a video, read-along teleprompter) and templates are currently only available in English”, the company says.
In any case, this tool is a good illustration of how AI can improve worker productivity.
